Needed to Complete Sallie Mae On-Line Application
- The name of our school is the Health Training Center, located in
Cambridge,
Massachusetts.
- The school contact person is Dan
Pessia, 888.868.2111 ext. 105. All
applications must be done on-line.
- On most applications co-signers
are required. You need to be employed and have decent credit or have a
co-signer. Obtain co-signers in advance
to avoid loan approval delays.
- Tuition Amount: Choose 1 of the
costs shown.

- Additional expense of up to 60%
of the tuition can be used for things such as uniforms, national exams, rent,
medical expenses, food, etc. Request this money in the ‘additional expenses’
field. This money will be sent directly to you from SLM Financial (Sallie Mae).
- Total amount must be a minimum of
$1,000. Total loan amount equals tuition field and additional expenses.
- Choose optional repayment terms
from Standard Repayment, Interest-Only Repayment or Deferment Repayment option with a
payment as low as $10 per month while attending school sessions. You can prepay
at anytime without penalty.
- Disbursement (full payment) to the school must be made 30 days before the first
class meeting to be sure your seat will be reserved. You are
not fully registered until HTC receives disbursement from SLM and we have a
completed school registration form. This
form can be sent at any time as long as you write ‘Sallie Mae’ on the form. Once
HTC receives SLM Financial disbursement, you will receive a Registration Confirmation
from us. If your loan application process is more than 30 days from class start
date and you want to be fully registered and assigned a seat earlier, you need
to pay HTC the normal down payment which will be returned to you once HTC receives
disbursement by SLM. You could also pay HTC the down payment directly and
borrow less from SLM.
- Disbursement amount is the total loan amount above, unless you are
taking classes over 2 terms. In that
case, you would request disbursements that cover each term with one payment for
each term. Assign your disbursement payment amount to the total
tuition and fees of each semester you are enrolling. See #8 for disbursement
payment dates to HTC.
- Enrollment period dates should be
taken from our website based on the campus and program you are enrolling in. If
you are taking classes over 2 terms you will need to get the start and end
dates from our website.
- Graduation date is the date of
your last class. If you are taking
classes over 2 semesters, graduation date will be on the last date of class at
the end of your last term.
We will certify Section
D on the application after you have submitted it electronically to SLM
Financial. It takes about 10 – 15
minutes to complete the application if you have all of the requested
information mentioned below available before you go on-line. You will get a credit decision within 30
seconds on-line.
When submitting
loan applications thru the OpenNet Web Application process, please always check the following:
- Application is completed in
FULL
i.e. all REFERENCES for borrowers
and cosigners must be completed with full street address, city/state/zip, and
phone number with area code. The
borrower and cosigner must use different references, and they cannot list each
other as references.
- All application information can
be verified, i.e. income- if an
applicant is paid under-the table or in cash and cannot prove by providing a
copy of current employer pay stub or proving on last year’s tax returns, then
the income should not be listed on the loan application.
- All applicant information is accurate
and correct, including SSNs,
DOBs, spelling of names, etc. Double
check spellings and #s prior to submitting.
- Permanent residents must submit a copy of their CIS form I-551
(Resident Alien Card); this form cannot be marked ‘waived.’ SLM will
not accept cards marked waived or that are expired.
- Send a completed
Health
Training
Center
registration form to our
Cambridge
address, 358 Broadway,
Cambridge,
MA
02139 and note payment will be made by
SLM Financial. HTC will notify you when
the SLM Financial disbursement is received and you are officially registered.
- The
Health
Training
Center
does not offer any Federal Financial Aid options.
Cambridge
is the only site that SLM wants listed, even though students are attending
other
Health
Training
Center
sites.
You may apply for SLM Financial Loans
at anytime before or after a semester has started. Although approval could take less time, you
should plan on applying for your loan 30 days before the semester you are
enrolling in starts.
